Another mix tape, this time in 'D'....

Been really busy of late so apologies for lack of attention. To tie things over here's another mixtape, this time with acts starting with 'D'. Though it may appear that I've stopped writing for this blog I haven't, new pieces will be up soon. They include a celebratory piece on the reformation of My Bloody Valentine and a similarly themed observance of the Died Pretty reformation. They will be performing their classic 'Doughboy Hollow' album as part of the Australian 'Don't Look Back' shows throughout Australia in January.
Anyway for now enjoy the Ds....

The Damned - Smash it Up

Dandy Warhols - Heroin is so Passe

David Bowie - Quicksand - Demo version, a bonus track on the CD of Hunky Dory.

David McComb & Adam Peters - Don't Go Home With Your Hard-On

De La Soul - Eye Know

The Decemberists - The Crane Wife 3 - The Crane Wife is a wonderful (if not a little disturbing) Japanese traditional tale. A naive illustration of the story can be found here.

DEVO - Uncontrollable Urge - a very rare live version recorded at Brisbane's Livid Festival in 1997

Died Pretty - Blue Sky Day

Dinosaur Jr - Almost Ready

Donovan - Hurdy Gurdy Man

The Drones - Jezebel

Dusty Springfield - Son of a Preacher Man

Dead Kennedys - California Uber Alles

And finally the hilariously bad first single from Dee Dee King's (nee Ramone) ill fated hiphop career. Dee Dee himself later admitted its awful, though very funny.

DeeDee King - Funky Man
